As I began to host the programs for the Education Channel on WebTV4Women, I wanted a theme to weave the programs together. The educator in me took over and decided to alphabetize them ☺. Here’s a snap shot of the first week, the “A” week:
Our foundation is the Word of God. As we anticipate this New Year, some may be anxious about the economy, war and other issues. Our hearts can be calmed by reading in Philippians 4, verses 6 and 7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” And be encouraged to know that God is always available for you and hears your prayer and will answer. In Jeremiah 33:3, we read, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” John 15 reminds us to abide in Him for He is the vine and we are the branches, and apart from Him, we can do nothing. As we anticipate the New Year, we can trust that God is our anchor and the answer. As we learn to abide in Him, release our anxieties to Him, we learn to walk in His power and peace. In His strength, we can shine in ’09!

Jody,
I want to thank you for your love, commitment and obedience to that which God has called you to...the field of education.
I was a very discouraged, bitter and unmotivated public school special education teacher until I "rediscovered" a book of yours that I received from going to one of your seminars (autographed copy, Becoming a Treasured Teacher, 1992).
After reviewing it again and meditating on the different scriptures that you highlight, I am reminded of how I do nothing in my own strength/knowledge. My wisdom comes from my Father in Heaven. I am also rejuvenated in my yearning to pray for my students along with guidance for my efforts to educate them. Thank You!!
